submarine song

I know that it's possible that I am the only person on earth who still likes John Mayer. I also know that any music that has a touch of nostalgia will have me dreaming. So this new song of his is obviously going to a lot for me. I hope it does something for you too:

top to bottom

{ JCrew chambray shirt & shorts, Anthropologie belt, H&M bag and Bloch shoes }

 While I'd like to think summer could go on forever, it seems like our's has been colder and rainier than ever this year. That being said, I'll remain pretty content unless snow is falling from the sky. Until the sun decides to join us for the month of August, I'll curl up in my apartment with a good magazine and a hot cup of tea... in my summer shorts of course.

mini pies

If you didn't know this about me already; I love to bake. My mum and I were at this little store in Edmonton called CC on Whyte, (which I absolutely covet for it's French design) where I found this great recipe book called Sarabeth's Bakery. It has some really great, easy to follow recipes that have that little bit of French allure. I had a wedding shower to attend and - instead of gifts - we all made a dish (sweet or savory) and brought it along with the recipe. I decided to make these individual pies which ended up being cute, well-portioned and mouthwatering.

{ baked to perfection! }

{ top off with ice cream and it's the perfect dessert }

beachy keen

Apparently in my life, any opportunity I have to snap a picture of my outfit is one that I have to take. I somehow keep myself way too busy with unfinished DIY projects, work, friends, family - and of course - this blog. I also don't have any photographer friends that want to spend their time taking picture of me. Fair enough. I wore this outfit a while back and everyone told me the same thing: I looked beachy and 'cool'...(whatever that might mean).

This grey oak and fort dress is such a great transitional piece. It can be worn whenever and wherever with only a few minor adjustments. I also love the fact that such a wardrobe staple can be so unexpected and unusual.
